Lost Surfboards - 5'10" Driver 3.0 LightSpeed2 Surfboard

Description

Driver 3.0 Squash Performance Shortboard

The Driver 3.0 Squash is the result of three years of relentless refinement, developed side-by-side with elite-level team riders pushing the limits against the world’s best surfers. What began as the Driver 2.0 has evolved—methodically and intentionally—into something entirely new. The Driver 3.0 is no longer an iteration. It’s a complete transformation.

First publicly unveiled as a squash-tail prototype during the 2022 Stab In The Dark with Jack Robinson, this design narrowly missed the win and immediately set off alarms across the surf world. Continued refinement throughout 2022 confirmed what the team already knew: this board was special. Nearly every top-tier surfer in the program began calling it the best board in their quiver.

That momentum was cemented by Griffin Colapinto’s WCT victories in Portugal and El Salvador, with the Driver 3.0 RND essentially replicated from Griffin’s “magic board” ridden during the El Salvador event. From veterans like Kolohe Andino, Yago Dora, and Ian Crane to the next generation including Eli Hanneman, Crosby Colapinto, and Cole Houshmand, the feedback was unanimous. It was time to release it.

Design & Performance

The Driver 3.0 Squash features increased tail rocker and a deeper double-to-single concave through the rear half of the board compared to the Driver 2.0. This combination delivers more lift, more speed, and tighter turning arcs. A scooped-out tail deck with lower, boxy rails allows the board to knife cleanly into the water, creating explosive drive and precise control.

A narrowed hip between the feet enhances grip and stability, while the squash tail remains wide and forgiving under the rear foot, pulling in just enough at the last inches for confidence and hold during hard-pushing, pro-level surfing in the pocket.

To balance the aggressive tail and rocker package, the Driver 3.0 carries added width and volume forward, improving glide, paddle power, and responsiveness off the front foot. Thickness is concentrated along the stringer for drive, paired with a higher-angle vee deck that tapers volume into smooth, round, forgiving rails.

Pro-Driven Dims

Overall dimensions and volume are slightly more generous—direct feedback from the team.

Griffin Colapinto: 5’11” @ 28.5L

Yago Dora: 5’11”–6’0” @ 29.5L

Kolohe Andino & Crosby Colapinto: similar lengths around 29.0L

The Verdict

The Driver 3.0 Squash represents the current standard in modern, high-level performance surfing. Proven on the world stage, refined by the best surfers on the planet, and built with enough foam and built-in speed to thrive beyond contest conditions, this is a true everyday pro-performance weapon.

The next evolution of high-performance EPS/Epoxy “Carbon Neutral*” construction.

LightSpeed II is the evolution of our original LightSpeed tech — same foundation, new materials, for ultra-light and ultra-fast performance. We’ve replaced all carbon components with a custom-engineered combination of high tensile S-Glass and Innegra composite, delivering a dampened flex pattern, with a smoother ride, with less chatter, without sacrificing strength or durability. The “Exoskeleton” centerline strips are now built with S-Glass, infused with Innegra, offering a more forgiving flex than carbon, with superior dampening. The Web Fused Carbon tail patches have also been upgraded to Web Fused Innegra™, resulting in a white, light, lively, responsive board with forgiving flex and a smoother feel underfoot — all without sacrificing the signature speed and pop that made LightSpeed famous.

LightSpeed II Highlights:

High Tensile S-Glass + Innegra™ Construction: Replaces all carbon elements from the original LightSpeed with more flexibly forgiving materials.
Less sun and heat sensitive, as well.
Updated Exoskeleton Strips: Centerline strips now built with S-Glass and Innegra™, maintains tensile strength while dampening flex and reducing chatter.
Web Fused Innegra™ Tail Patch: Replaces previous carbon version, for a forgiving feel under your back foot and improving dampening.
More Flex Before Failure: S-Glass offers increased bend range before creasing or buckling, than carbon — delivering longer board life under pressure.
Reduced Chatter & Twitch: Aimed specifically at minimizing the rigid, snappy feel often associated with carbon, creating a smoother ride overall.
No More Carbon Footprints: For those looking to reduce their carbon footprint— literally — this update eliminates all carbon in the layup.

* “Carbon Neutral*”… with tongue firmly in cheek. It’s not really Carbon Neutral (whatever that even means)
