Product Review: Xcel Infiniti Booties

With a velcro strap and anatomical design, Xcel’s Infiniti bootie provides the footing you need to hack the sh*t out of cold waves and stay deep in the slippery tube. This is one high-performance bootie: sleek and supple, it offers a full range of movement, reliable warmth and grip, and durability. Full Xcel badassness at a really good price.

The Infiniti bootie is plenty technical. Most of the features can also be found in the top-shelf Drylock series. A rubbery sole wraps around the edges, reinforced with panels along the front foot and heel; it’s less buttery but longer lasting than the Drylock version. Glued and blind-stitched seams seal out water, and inner tape backs that up like inner city thugs would.

A heel pull helps the ankle slip in (but don’t use it to pull the booties off because it’s not designed for that, and you shouldn’t even need it for that). The velcro strap cinches the bootie tight, allowing you to adjust the fit to your foot, and the anatomical design ensures a snug toe box with no excess. The split toe is connected to keep your leash out. They come in a round toe, too.

Lightweight. Flexy. Comfy. Kickass. The 2016 Xcel Infiniti bootie makes cold water surfing better.
